December 27, 2008

Evan was baptized today We are so proud of him and the decision he made to become a member of Heavenly Father's church It's his first step on his way to the Celestial Kingdom And can I just say, it's so much easier when it's a boy getting baptized You don't have to worry about hair and tights and dress LOL Everything went well Only had to dunk him once His uncle Oslo, who was also 8, got baptized that day, so it was a real family affair Even Tristan participated in the program by giving a talk on baptism Only one more to go.......

the Crazee Cummins kidz are sure getting big
I'll go L to R, Tristan is 16 and a junior in high school
Emma is 10, in 4th grade and loves the Jonas Brothers
Evan, 8, is in 3rd grade, and plays Xbox and Nerf guns
Daphne is 6 and in 1st grade, she loves to sing and dance
We won't talk about how old Dez and John are getting, only say that life is great and we can't wait to be back together again, just like in this picture Merry Christmas

Welcome to Munchkinland

This has been a favorite of Tristan's since he was little. Now he's got Evan doing it too. Whatever will I do with these silly boys? Ok, I'll keep 'em.

Christmas Singing

The Choir has been very busy. Last night we sang Looka That Star acapella(without piano) at the Ward Christmas party. It was so great to feel like you're actually using one of your talents. Then today was the Christmas program during sacrament. I got to read the Testimony of Mary, Mother of Christ and John got to read Joseph's Testimony. It was so beautiful. Emma sang with the senior primary and the choir sang O Holy Night, O Little Town of Bethelehem, and Messiah's Hallelujah Chorus. I started off as an alto, but due to one of our 2 sopranos falling out unexpectedly, the next to last practice I became a soprano. Luckily, I'd been singing soprano already on the Hallelujah Chorus. I did come to the sad realization that I've been singing that song for 20 years now. I learned it in my home ward when I was 14 and have been singing it ever since. I absolutely love that song. It brings tears to my eyes to feel like I am magnifying one of the gifts my Heavenly Father gave me. After the program one the ladies in the ward told me she thought I was "the best." Literally her words, not mine. I love her.

We're moving... again

Honestly, do you think we could ever not say that? Does that make sense? Of course not John has come down on orders again. This time-da da da da-Korea Yeah, you heard me right. And yes, he did just get back from there. After many conversations with many people in power, he decided to go to his levy brief(where they tell you more about where you're going and sign this and check that) to see what they would say. His records don't show him going to Korea in the first place. It says he went from Fort Stupid(Stewart) straight to here. While at his brief he found out that he would be assigned to Fort Carson when he gets back. More importantly, that we (the kids and I) could move there before he leaves So in my dream land we will leave Fort Leonard Wood the Tuesday after Memorial Day and be to Colorado by June 1st We will be there the year he is in Korea and then John should be stationed there for another 3 years. So the kids and I will be in one place for 4 years Can you believe it? Us either I never thought I'd get the itchy feet after 1 1/2 years, but I really have. Don't get me wrong. Missouri hasn't been terrible, but we loved Colorado and feel so blessed to go back, especially since all of the kids are big enough to enjoy everything And guaranteed I won't be pregnant or nursing, unlike the last time we were there
